Role Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Staff Development and Compliance Coordinator to support our Essex services (West, South, Mid, Northeast). Reporting to the Quality & Compliance Manager and with a dotted line to the Service Operations Manager, Essex, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring and supporting staff, assisting with quality audits, and helping troubleshoot operational challenges across the organisation.
This hands on role requires a balance of coaching, problem solving, and operational oversight to help staff thrive while maintaining quality standards, Health & Safety compliance, and effective cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Staff Mentoring and Support: Mentor and coach both new hires and existing staff to ensure understanding of roles and responsibilities. Provide ongoing guidance and foster a positive learning environment.
Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve operational issues, working collaboratively to ensure solutions are sustainable and aligned with organisational goals.
Quality Assurance and Auditing: Support internal quality audits and assist the Quality & Compliance Manager with implementing quality control measures to maintain compliance with service standards and regulatory requirements.
Training and Compliance: Deliver and ensure the effectiveness of training programmes, including adherence to Bridge H&S policies and procedures, ensuring staff compliance and competency.
Joined-Up Thinking: Encourage collaborative approaches across departments to improve communication, operational efficiency, and service delivery.
Key Relationships: Work closely with the line manager, Quality & Compliance Manager, HR, Lead Housing Officer, HS&F Advisor, Executive Team, Board of Trustees, managers, staff, external contractors, suppliers, and regulatory bodies.

Person Specification
Essential:
- Proven experience mentoring or coaching staff, preferably within a mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of quality control, auditing, and compliance processes.
- Familiarity with Health & Safety training and requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot effectively.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to foster teamwork, collaboration, and positive working relationships.
Desirable:
- Experience in mental health or not-for-profit settings.
- Awareness of equality, diversity, and inclusion best practice in service delivery.
- Experience in operational compliance or quality improvement initiatives.
